Laird Technologies has added to its PORON-based family of Conductive Fabric gaskets for liquid crystal display cushioning and EMI protection in handheld monitoring devices.
The gaskets are RoHS compliant EMI shields and create an environment favourable to LCD cushioning and EMI security within mobile phones, PDAs, GPS receivers, barcode scanners and graphic tablets.

Laird Technologies’ PORON Conductive Fabric gaskets reduce the number of parts and also eliminate the need for a high-cost stamping tool that traditionally slows down production lines. The PCF gaskets help decrease customers’ time to market while lowering costs.

The design also reduces the weight of handheld products since it replaces the conventional metal stamping frame. The gaskets can be die-cut specifically to fit underneath the LCD screen in handheld devices. Likewise, standard roll sizes are 500mm wide by 50m in length and other sizes are available.
