Endrich GmbH has announced that its overvoltage protection modules, from the company's PBSP series, have been ordered by the manufacturer ProTek Devices. The modules are intended to offer LED drivers and control gears for industrial and commercial applications additional protection against national grid surges.

The modules can be used for street lights, which are normally insufficiently protected, if at all, against indirect lightning strikes. A delta connection is used to protect components against overvoltage - between phase and neutral, between phase and earth, and between neutral and earth.

The products were designed to protect against lightning surge currents up to 10,000A (series PBSP-XXX-10K) or up to 20,000A (series PBSP-XXX-20K). The modules, in accordance with UL1449, meet the ANSI Standard C136.2 / IEEE C62.41.2 location Category C and comply with the IEC61643-11 Class II / EN61643-11 type 2 standard.

Supplied in a compact, non-flammable plastic housing with mounting tabs, they are waterproof and dustproof to IP66. The devices operate at a maximum temperature of 85°C. All Protek PBSP-components comply with CE mark requirements, including the EU Low Voltage Directive.
