Vishay announce the extension of its precision high-power thin film chip resistor portfolio with the introduction of new PHP series components in compact 0603 and 0805 case sizes. Offering 0.375 W in 0603 and 0.675 W in 0805 case sizes, the new PHP series resistors feature a low absolute TCR of ± 25 ppm/°C and tolerances down to ± 0.1%.

Operating over a wide temperature range from -55 °C to +125 °C, the PHP series thin film chip resistors feature stable film and performance characteristics of 1000 ppm at +70 °C for 2,000 hours.

Ideally optimised for high-precision medical imaging, the new Vishay resistors suit applications including industrial, telecommunications, and test and measurement instrumentation and equipment. Designed with a high-purity ceramic substrate and enlarged backside terminations, the resistors feature a reduced thermal resistance between the topside resistor layer and the solder joint on the end users’ circuit board.

The extended PHP series now offers a resistance range from 10 Ω to 30.1 kΩ (with non-standard values available) in the 0603, 0805, 1206, and 2512 case sizes. Offering two times the power rating over traditional thin film chip resistors in the same case sizes, the PHP resistors feature power ratings up to 2.5 W, low noise of < -30 dB, low voltage coefficients of 0.1 ppm/V, and voltage ratings from 75 V to 200 V.

The RoHS-compliant HP resistors are flame-resistant in accordance to UL 94 V-0 and are available with lead (Pb)-free or lead terminations. With lead times of eight to 10 weeks for standard orders, samples and production quantities of PHP series devices in the 0603 and 0805 case sizes are available now.
