Featuring low loss and excellent frequency characteristics for active filter circuits as well as high frequency and high current circuits, Panasonic is introducing a range of small size metalised polypropylene film capacitors.

The ECWFE capacitors have been designed with a non-inductive construction using metalised polypropylene film with a flame retardant plastic case and come with a built-in fuse function. Furthermore Panasonic incubates the molds for a sufficient time to allow the material to sufficiently cure before vacuum treating the molds to remove any excess air bubbles.

Available for a rated voltage of 450VDC with a capacitance range of 0.1 up to 4.7µF or 630VDC with a capacitance range of 0.1 up to 2.2µF, the ECWFE series components benefit from a wide operating temperature range from -40 to 105°C, a low hum sound noise, and are fully RoHS compliant.

Mustafa Khan, Product Manager at Panasonic Automotive & Industrial Systems Europe remarked: “The durable outer box construction of the ECWFE series capacitors gives the components the capability of withstanding vibrations better than standard dipped type film capacitors. The built-in fuse functionality allows the ECWFE series to open upon failure rather than short circuit. This makes the parts ideal for power supplies, PFC and other applications where vibrations are a subject of concern.”
