Expanding the possibilities of its sealed limit switches, Microprecision Electronics has announced that the MP700 series are now available with an M12 connector integrated directly into the housing. Enabling the connection of limit switches as sensing devices to industrial bus systems, this feature allows for a simple and detachable cable connection as an alternative to the common potted cable solution. Standard M12 connection cables are broadly available.

This option is implemented for 30 and 35mm housing sizes which reflects the 20mm 'EN' and 25mm 'US' mounting style. Metal housing for rugged outdoor applications as well as plastic housing for indoor use are both offering this new feature.

A five-pin version is used in the MP740/60 metallic cases and a four-pin for the MP730/750 plastic cases. All cases are IP67 sealed. The electrical rating is adapted to the power specification of M12 connectors for 4A up to 120VAC and 3A for 240VAC.

The MP700 limit switches come with a wide selection of actuator types consisting of pin and roller plungers, roller levers and many others. The electrical switching module is a positive opening circuit with either slow- action or snap-action movements for a broad range of industrial applications. The products fulfil the EN 60947-5-1 standards and are also UL approved.
