Vishay has announced the introduction of the industry's first MELF resistors featuring low TCR down to ±5 ppm/K and tolerances down to ±0.02 % in the standard 0207 case size. The new series of high-precision thin film MELF resistors, the Vishay Beyschlag UMB 0207 series devices, are ideal for demanding applications requiring high stability and reliability.

The UMB 0207 series is available with two different operation modes: Precision and Standard. Operating over a temperatue range from -10 °C to +85 °C, the UMB 0207 resistors in Precision operation mode provide rated power dissipation to 110 mW at +70 °C and excellent long term stability down to < 0.02% after 1000 hours. When in Standard operation mode, they feature rated power dissipation to 400 mW at +70 °C, an extended temperatue range from -55 °C to +125 °C, and excellent long term stability down to < 0.05% after 1000 hours.

Lead (Pb)-free, halogen-free, and RoHS-compliant, the UMB 0207 resistors feature a resistance range from 100 Ω to 390 kΩ, a high operating voltage of 350 V, and low TCR of ±15 ppm/K; ±10 ppm/K; or ±5 ppm/K.

Combining the proven reliability of professional MELF products with the most advanced level of precision and stability ever achieved with axial thin film high-precision resistors, the UMB 0207 series are ideally targeted at applications including for precision circuits in measurement and calibration equipment, industrial process control systems, aerospace electronics, and medical equipment. They are also particularly suited for processing on automatic SMD assembly systems, thanks to their "Green" credentials.

Samples and production quantities of the UMB 0207 resistors are available now, with lead times of six weeks for larger orders.
