ACAL Radiatron announces the immediate availability of the industry’s smallest and lowest-cost high-current, sealed contactor rated for operation up to 500 amps. Weighing just 0.43kg, the Kilovac EV200 is also the lightest product in its class.

The EV200 provides safe and reliable disconnection of high-currents and is designed for long and reliable operation in harsh environments. Standard mechanical life is rated in excess of 1 million operations, making the EV200 suitable for use in new designs or as a retro-fit replacement for conventional ‘open’ style contactors where reliability could be compromised by the risk of environmental ingress. Immunity from oxidation or contamination of the coils or contacts, means that the EV200 remains reliable even during extended periods of non-operation.

An integral coil economiser limits back EMF to zero volts whilst requiring just 1.7W hold power at 12VDC, and an optional, fully-sealed auxiliary contact provides easy monitoring of the contact position.

The EV200 is rated for carry currents up to 500A with 2000A interrupt at 320VDC. A wide range of configurations allows for easy and cost-effective customisation to meet the specific design objectives of different applications. These options include seven different Form types, as well as flange, panel and PCB-mounting versions and a range of coil and power connections. The EV200 is available now from ACAL Radiatron in commercial and QPL, MIL-R-83725 versions, with optional voltage isolation to 70,000 volts.

The contactor is CE marked for EU operation and meets AIAG QS9000 specifications as well as being recognised by US and Canadian UL File E208033.
