Fox Electronics has enhanced its HC49 line of low-cost resistance weld crystals with two versions that maintain stability and tolerances across an extended temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. The SMD HC49SDLF and thru-hole HC49SLF offer frequencies from 3.2 MHz to 80 MHz in the same compact 14 mm x 5 mm package with maximum heights of 4.5 mm and 3.6 mm, respectively.
The SMD HC49SDLF and thru-hole HC49SLF offer frequencies from 3.2 MHz to 80 MHz in the same compact 14 mm x 5 mm package with maximum heights of 4.5 mm and 3.6 mm, respectively.

The large temperature and frequency ranges, as well as the compact, robust housing make the new crystals ideal for a variety of harsh environments including mobile devices and exterior telecommunication installations.

Applications where the electronic systems are subjected to fluctuating weather conditions, and bandwidth requirements are high, find the combined attributes of the crystals especially useful for long-term, proper operation.

Both new crystals feature frequency tolerances as low as ±10 ppm at 25°C and frequency stabilities as tight as ±90 ppm from -55°C to +125°C.

Aging is only ±3 ppm per year and the drive level is 100 uW. The maximum shunt capacitance of the extended temperature crystals is 7 pF and the load capacitance is specified from 10 pF for parallel configurations.

Pricing and delivery is dependent upon crystal specifications.
