A low-noise amplifier, front-end module with integrated pre- and post-filters for GPS receiver applications has been introduced by Skyworks. The SKY65903-11, a 1559-1606MHz high performance module, can be used for global positioning and navigation satellite systems in end products such as fitness/activity trackers, watches, pet trackers, smartphones and tablets.

The device features high linearity, excellent gain, and a low noise figure for improved signal-to-noise ratio.

Integrated pre- and post-filters provide low in-band insertion loss and rejection for the cellular, PCS, and WLAN frequency bands. Low current consumption extends battery life and single DC supply simplifies design and minimises board layout.

It’s compact 16-pin, 2.5x2.5mm Multi-Chip Module (MCM) package allows for a highly manufactureable and low-cost solution.

Features:

  • Small signal gain: 14.2dB
  • In-band IIP3: –7.3dBm
  • Low noise figure: 1.7dB
  • Low current consumption
  • Input/output impedance internally matched to 50Ω
  • Single DC supply: 1.8V
  • No external SMT required
  • Small, MCM (16-pin, 2.5x2.5mm) package (MSL1, 260°C per JEDEC J-STD-020)
