Cyntech's New Zippy range of waterproof and IP67 sealed micro switches

Cyntech has revealed general availability of the latest Zippy range of waterproof and IP67 sealed micro switches. To provide compatibility with V3 and V4 industry standard body sizes and terminal types four new series of parts have been introduced. All switches are waterproof but for applications where it is required each series includes components meeting the more rigorous IP67 specification, providing protection from both dust and immersion in water.

The different series are primarily distinguished by their current handling ratings and physical dimensions with the DFW series providing a 5A rating for operation at 125/250V AC or 24V DC. The more compact DW2 series includes a low current DC option (10mA at 12V DC) as well as a 3A 125V AC specification.

The VW1 and SW1 series support higher current requirements at 10A and 12A respectively. Within each series are configuration options for the actuator types, terminal and cover styles and a choice of operating force and whether the switch is a single pole double throw or single pole single throw (normally closed or normally open).

The IP67 rated versions of these switches provide full dust protection and protection against the effects of immersion in water to depths between 15cm and 1 meter.
