With the SPVT series, ALPS ELECTRIC EUROPE GmbH offers a series of particularly small and flat two-way operation-type detector switches with dimensions of only 5.6mm x 6.5mm x 1.8mm (W x D x H). The surface-mountable devices are remarkable for their high reliability and long operating life of 100,000 switching cycles. Conceived as 1-pole 1-position switches, the SPVT series is rated for switching currents of 100µA at 3VDC or maximal 1mA at 5VDC respectively. The necessary operating force accounts for a maximum of 0.4N.

The SPVT series provides a versatile usable range of switches, which is available with left and right side control direction, with or without location lug, and with or without a slide terminal. These are located on the right side, on the left side or on both sides of the detector switch. Other specifications include a maximum initial contact resistance of 2Ω, an insulation resistance higher than 100MΩ at 100VDC, and a voltage proof of up to 100VAC for one minute. Operating temperatures range from –40°C to +85°C. Typical applications are FP-TV, DVD player, personal audio devices, digital cameras and digital video cameras, PCs and peripherals, mobile phones and peripherals, and car A/V equipment.

The switches are is suitable for lead-free reflow soldering. They meet the RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) directives and are available in minimum packaging units of 2.500 pieces.
