At IMS 2015, which takes place from 17th to 22nd May in Phoenix, TMD Technologies will showcase its PTXM series of MPMs (Microwave Power Modules) as well as its PTS6900 solid state MPM. The company will also display its Ku-band Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs) and pulsed TWT and solid state amplifiers for EMC HIRF testing.

The PTXM series is comprised of the PTXM1000, the PTXM1001 and the PTXM1002.

Operating across the 4.5-18GHz band, with output powers up to 140W, the MPMs have been designed specifically for airborne radar, EW and communications applications, particularly for UAVs, where low volume and weight are critical. The devices, which typically weigh 1.7kg, are suitable for pulsed or CW operation.

Optimised for use in EW/ECM systems, TMD’s PTS6900 solid state MPM covers the 2-6GHz frequency band at 150W output power, and has a 55dB gain adjustable from 50 to 60dB. The advanced design employs the latest GaN MMIC technology and low loss power combiners to provide high performance and reliability, with a predicted MTBF of over 30,000 hours for an airborne uninhabited fighter environment.

The PT6789 Ku-band TWT, designed for missile seekers, operates at the top of the radar Ku-band and provides a peak power as high as 1000W. In addition, the device offers a high-duty ratio of up to 33% at very high pulse repetition frequencies.

The PTC series pulsed TWT amplifiers on show has now been extended and now includes models optimised for use in EMC HIRF testing that meet RTCA/DO-160G and L, MIL Standard, EUROCAE and AIRBUS ABD 100 test requirements. The recently released PTCS series of solid state amplifiers are suitable for use at frequencies below 6GHz.

At the trade show, the company will be situated at booth 3623.
