Explore performance sports with athletes at the Wearable Tech Show

Offering a valuable insight into the future convergence of sport and technology, this year’s Wearable Technology Show looks to be promising, following the meteoric rise of smart technology being used to enhance sport performance in recent years.

The event, which will take place 7th-8th March 2017 at ExCeL London, will have insightful talks from former Olympian Greg Whyte, Red Bull big wave surfer Andrew Cotton, British Cycling’s Emma Barton, England Cricket Board and Team Sky alongside never-seen-before demonstrations and product launches – a must see for sport technology experts.

Alongside the conference programme is an innovative product showcase with many exclusive media launches, including:

Cognisess- Global launch
Showcasing the world’s first racing helmet which allows live streaming of the drivers’ brain waves to the pit crew.

Cognisess is piloting this ground-breaking research with the YRDA at Arden to introduce what can be described as ‘brain telemetry’.

MYZONE- Global launch
The company will be previewing its latest innovation in wearable technology; a fully-fledged subscription service for work-outs and classes that will soon be available on its app platform. 

Activbody– UK preview
Here there will be the UK preview of Activ5, a wireless-enabled, handheld isometric-based strength training device that, along with the Activ5 Companion App, coaches users through five-minute full body workouts and measures data such as strength, precision and other personal metrics.

AIQ
AIQ are showcasing the updated BioMan sports performance shirt redesigned with smaller sensor.

John Weir, COO, Wearable Technology Show, commented: “Sport was one of the first sectors where industry and consumers embraced the potential of wearable technology and it’s exciting how we’ve moved on from fitness bands to incorporating ‘brain telemetry’ and even VR.”

He added: “Our sports conference stream is incredibly strong this year and will explore how the smart technology continues to create opportunities for improvements in performance. Delegates will learn how top professional teams are harnessing wearables and how data is not only measured but used effectively for impressive gains.”

Organisers are expecting 5,000 attendees to attend the event next month, which features global leaders and influencers on its 200-speaker strong conference programme and over 100 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations in smart technology. It is co-located with IOT Connect, Smart Home Show and Augmented Reality and VR 2017 and the MXR Summit.
