With over a thousand exhibitors from across the globe representing all spectrums of the embedded sector, Altium appeared at the 2018 embedded world Exhibition & Conference in Nuremberg, Germany. This year’s trade show took place on the 27th February-1st March, showcasing thousands of exhibitors, live presentations, and groundbreaking embedded design solutions for attendees to experience firsthand.

At this year’s event, Altium will showcased its latest and most significant product release to date: Altium Designer 18. In addition, Altium introduced the new and improved visual power analysis application PDN Analyser, which gives designers unprecedented control over their power delivery networks with the freedom to continuously analyse and modify multiple networks within Altium Designer.

Embedded World was the first opportunity to see this product and feature in action since its December release, with a live exhibit and presentation over the course of this special three day exposition.

Altium continues to focus on delivering value
Altium Designer 18 is pushing PCB design forward with the most advanced engineering solutions in the PCB design space. As an accompanying feature, Altium also provided a comprehensive look at PDN Analyser, an integrated functionality available as part of the Altium Designer package. Altium users now have the ability to simultaneously implement multi-network simulations (as opposed to single networks) and other advanced features like current direction indication, sortable simulation reports, and hierarchical network management all within their design tool.

“Our success is predicated on users choosing our software because it consistently meets their design needs,” said Lawrence Romine, Global Head of Field Marketing at Altium. “Altium Designer 18 represents the next generation of that. We wanted to develop the most user-centric, productivity-focused professional PCB design tool available, and by leveraging their feedback we were able to accomplish that.”

With Altium’s PDN Analyser, users can now have greater control over their power distribution networks and can immediately identify and resolve power issues within their PCB design. These new integrated visual power analysis capabilities allow users to visually comprehend and easily manage their multi-network DC voltage and current density from the convenience of their design environment, as well as rerun simulations and test modifications without interrupting their design workflows .
