Test and measurement solutions designed to advance communications beyond 400Gb/s—from components through data centre to telecommunications will be featured by Keysight Technologies at ECOC 2016 in Düsseldorf (Sept. 19-21). Demonstrations will include a variety of measurement solutions used in the characterisation of electrical and optical transceivers and in component test.

A new M8040A high-performance 64GBaud BERT for PAM-4 and NRZ simplifies accurate receiver testing for 400GbE devices. This extension of the M8000 series of BER test solutions streamlines receiver test setups with its highly integrated pattern generator and ensures repeatable results with true PAM-4 error detection.

The N1092D DCA-M sampling oscilloscope for optical signals in a reduced cost platform operates with an external PC running the FLEX-DCA interface. The oscilloscope performs basic waveform analysis and industry compliance test for 25 G class optical transmitters.

The sampling oscilloscope features low noise/high sensitivity (5 uW/ 4 dB better SNR), high throughput and low jitter (<200 fS).

The new DCA-M sampling oscilloscope for optical transmitters will be the backbone for testing 25/50/100/200 and 400Gb/s optical interconnects.

The N4917B optical receiver stress test solution for 100GBASE-LR4 transceivers represents the next generation of test automation, according to Keysight. The solutoion provides accurate and repeatable receiver characterisation for R&D and validation engineers so they can effectively evaluate their latest 100Gb Ethernet designs.

The solution is based on the J-BERT M8020A high-performance BERT, including the M8062A 32Gb/s BERT front end, the 86100D Infiniium DCA-X high-bandwidth oscilloscope, 81490A reference transmitter and N77 series attenuator.

The newly configured solution allows customers to use the build-in error counters or the BERTs integrated error detector.

Keysight will demonstrate how engineers can use its end-to-end reference solution based on the 92GSa/s arbitrary waveform generator and modulation analyser (N4391A) for the generation and analysis of optically impaired complex, multi-level and multichannel signals.

The companywill also demonstrate the latest additions to its range of tunable laser sources and two-way swept-wavelength test solutions.

In addition, Keysight will demonstrate the only Indium Phosphide 63GHz oscilloscope and show the latest software enhancements and expansion of its family of accessories in combination with the M8195A 65 GSa/s arbitrary waveform generator.
