Xilinx today announced the addition of Doulos (Morgan Hill, Calif.) to the company's network of Authorized Training Provider (ATP) members in North America. Doulos, a leader in system-on-chip and field programmable gate array (FPGA) design and verification training solutions, has been an ATP member since 2004, providing services to Xilinx customers in Ireland and the U.K.
Over the past year, Xilinx has expanded the ATP program to include a total of 30 member companies (www.xilinx.com/training/atp.htm) serving customers in 43 countries in Africa and the Middle East, Asia, the Americas and Europe. Notably, since April 2009 ATP members have delivered more than 25,000 student days of training.

Doulos has an excellent track record in delivering high-quality training services to Xilinx customers, working hand-in-hand with our worldwide sales organization, said Jason Fegley, training manager at Xilinx. In today's global economic environment, designers are challenged to do more with less, reduce risk and differentiate to survive. As a result, hands-on training has become an essential component to getting design done faster and at a lower cost. To meet the needs of a growing base of customers, we've re-engineered our training offerings to make learning accessible to a broader, more diverse audience in modular formats, tailored to their requirements. Doulos' philosophy of 'service through excellence' is well matched to the philosophy of our Xilinx ATP program.

Joining the Xilinx ATP network in North America is an important step in Doulos' strategy to provide fully integrated design and verification training solutions for hardware, embedded software and systems engineering, said Phil Mundy, strategic relationship manager at Doulos. As Xilinx continues its push forward in device and platform technology, Doulos will work closely with the company's channels and customers, delivering know-how through training to enable the capabilities of Xilinx FPGAs to be turned into project successes.

The ATP program complements Xilinx Training Services curriculum with classroom instruction and labs tailored to customer needs and aimed at accelerating design success with Xilinx flagship FPGAs, including Virtex(R)-6 and Spartan(R)-6-based Targeted Design Platforms, comprising base (silicon, IP, logic tools, boards, reference designs), domain-specific (embedded processing, DSP or logic/connectivity IP & tools, FMC daughter cards), and market-specific (IP, custom tools & boards).
