The latest USB-C connector from TE Connectivity which is capable of supporting multiple connectivity standards, data speeds up to second-generation USB 3.1 (10gbps), and power delivery up to 100W (at 20V) is in stock at RS Components.  The connector is a ruggedised, PCB-mount USB-C receptacle with a slim profile suitable for applications such as smartphones, tablets and wearables, as well as PCs, home electronics, and professional equipment such as office technology, industrial automation and robotics.

It is the first connector from TE that complements the recently introduced RS Pro portfolio of USB-C cable assemblies and connectors.

USB-C is poised to become the dominant standard for data connections and power supply to mobiles, computers, mobiles, A/V equipment and many other devices.

Convenient multi-function connectivity, including compatibility with 4K UHD TV as well as protocols such as HDMI and DisplayPort, and legacy connections such as VGA and USB Type-A, ensures a simpler life for users and less waste electrical equipment in the longer term.

Leading mobile and PC brands have already begun announcing their plans around USB-C. The latest Apple MacBook, for example, will rely on USB-C as the sole external connector besides a headphone jack.
