Napatech today announced the introduction of two new NEBS compliant intelligent network adapters. NEBS is an important set of design guidelines for manufacturers of telecom equipment and often a requirement from telecom carriers. The combination of a NEBS compliant server and Napatech’s new NEBS compliant adapters provides a cost effective and reliable platform for development of deep packet capture systems.
Napatech is introducing two intelligent network adapters for 10G and 1G Ethernet networks. The NT20E-NEBS provides 2 x 10 GbE ports and is based on Napatech’s NT20E product. The NT4E-NEBS provides 4 x 1 GbE ports and is based on Napatech’s NT4E product. For both models, hardware design changes ensure that only passive cooling is provided without moving parts and that the network adapters can operate under extreme temperature conditions.

“NEBS is an important requirement from many carriers, but it is not always easy for system developers to meet requirements when using off-the-shelf systems”, said Erik Norup, President, Napatech Inc. “With the introduction of our new NEBS compliant network adapters, which are tested in NEBS compliant servers, we can now offer a tested, reliable and certified NEBS platform. Telecom equipment manufacturers can exploit this platform to quickly and cost-effectively develop high performance deep packet capture and inspection systems that can meet the stringent requirements of carriers.”
