At productronica, GOEPEL electronic introduced 9305-BAC/LIN-x, another Bus Access Cables (BAC) as a new member of the industry leading JTAG/Boundary Scan hardware platform SCANFLEX.
In connection with the SCANFLEX multi port module SFX-9305 the new family member of Bus Access Cables enables the test of LIN interfaces conforming to specification LIN 1.3 and 2.0, in combination with extended JTAG/Boundary Scan operations.

“LIN is well-established for controlling noncritical-safety modules in the Automotive industry. It has emerged as an important standard interface which we are able to completely encapsulate into the production test, by means of our SCANFLEX access module“, says Thomas Wenzel, managing director of GOEPEL electronic’s Boundary Scan Division. ”Thanks to the flexible integration opportunities of Boundary Scan test, interface control and emulation test users can significantly increase test depth and additionally achieve significant cost reductions.”

In the pool of already existing Bus Access Cables for Bluetooth, LAN, USB2.0 (Master/Slave), RS232 and CAN (HS/LS), 9305-BAC/LIN is already the eight family member. Each BAC can be independently plugged into any free port of the SFX-9305 SCANFLEX I/O module, where the interface will be recognised and configured automatically.

Available interface functions contain the stepwise handling of protocol layers incl. bi-directional data transfer. Consequently, users are able to completely control the interface target without additional driver software, and clearly identify faults.
By utilising VarioTAP emulation tests LIN bus interfaces can also be tested without the native target firmware.

In connection with the SFX-9305 module a 9305-BAC/LIN-x can be combined with all SCANFLEX controllers on PCI, PCI Express, Cabled PCI Express, PXI, PXI Express, FireWire, USB or LAN platforms. It is fully supported in the industry leading Boundary Scan Software SYSTEM CASCON from version 4.5 on. Module configuration and handling of test program data are based on user-friendly CASLAN instructions. CASLAN is an extremely powerful Boundary Scan programming language with several hundred commands supporting IEEE1149.1, IEEE1149.4, IEEE1149.6, IEEE1532, and JESD71 as well as mixed signal operations and VarioTAP for emulation test.
