At this year’s BETT show the UAE Ministry of Education came with one clear mission to showcase its vision of bringing the essence of lifelong learning to students through technological platforms and programs, and announce the launch of the new ‘Study in the UAE’ campaign, which highlights the UAE as one of the best destinations for international student from all over the world to pursue degrees in acclaimed UAE based universities.

The ‘Study in the UAE’ campaign
The UAE already has more than 200 nationalities studying and working within the country, and therefore with such a diverse set can provide a well diverse curriculum.

The campaign is in collaboration with eight premier UAE public and private universities including Khalifa University, Zayed University, Higher Colleges of Technology, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, Sharjah University, Zayed University, Ajman University, Abu Dhabi University and Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) that exhibited all their programs and unique offerings at the Ministry of Education pavilion at the BETT show.

The UAE is focusing on the next-generation with a new form of engagement that takes place learning in schools. Education is a key pillar in the UAE 2021 vision and the UAE Centennial 2071 and the Ministry of Education is focused on adopting innovative technology and investing in systems and platforms to help deliver an exceptional education system.

A lot of investment is going into this with over £2.17bn committed to education in the UAE in 2019 alone, the government believe that it is now the campaign should be shared with prospective students, raising awareness of both the world class universities in the UAE, and the unmatched intercultural and innovative experiences that make the country a globally recognised nation.

On the Ministry’s participation at BETT, H.E. Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education said: “The UAE’s leadership have set strategic priorities to pave the way for us to become one of the most innovative countries in the world and lead across various sectors. The Ministry has put forward the National Strategy for Higher Education 2030, which is set out to build the highest scientific and professional education standards in the UAE and provide future generations with the necessary technical and practical skills to drive a sustainable economy. The UAE is also home to more than 70 accredited universities of which eight UAE universities have been featured within the QS World University Rankings 2019.”

He added, “The UAE is an attractive destination for youth and students as in addition to its renowned educational offerings, it is one of the safest and happiest countries in the world with so much to offer them. Students can experience the rich Emirati culture and get to enjoy some of the best destinations and record-breaking attractions whilst staying at the UAE.”

The UAE is doing everything in its power to make it the best learning environment for students to produce graduates of the highest level. This will achieved through a platform within schools learning the student’s behaviours and activities to give a clear idea of where they are supposed to be.

The Ministry’s educational transformation is being put in place to ensure technologies that have recently emerged are integrated into a student’s education journey and they are accustomed to using them.  Several smart online platforms have been developed by the Ministry of Education to help create a seamless experience for students. The nation as a whole has a commitment to innovation and technology.

The UAE is keen for people to see that the digital transformation is not just devices, so it looks at other models too, such as competitiveness, immaturity and competency. It also looks at rewards systems from technology, as teachers like to learn from each other so the digital transformation has changed the approach through machine learning – this way you can gauge what worked and what didn’t.

The platform works with devices such as laptops capturing a number of behaviours from students, then the data that is collected is given to teachers on a dashboard to be monitored, and is also sent on for further analysis. Behaviours such as fitness, attendance, health, nutrition that is supplied at school, the weather and methods of transportation are all looked at.

He concluded: “We believe the UAE is a country where people can trust their children will be properly educated whether that is in schools or universities.”
