Austin Hughes Europe has expanded its range of server management solutions with the introduction of its new single- and two-user consoles and IP high density 16 and 32 port Cat5 KVM switches. Enhanced user benefits compared with previous KVM switch platforms are increased density, up to 40m between switch and server, enhanced cable management and multiplatform capabilities. Using a PS/2 or USB dongle at the server end of the installation provides a cost effective method of matching the server configuration, allowing legacy servers to be migrated to a USB interface without replacing switch hardware.
The two-user console allows a user to work securely via a remote keyboard, monitor and mouse over a Cat5 link up to 300m away from the installed switch / servers. Where IP is deployed, a second user can work securely via a remote keyboard, monitor and mouse using 128 bit secure IP access across the web. The plug and play technology provides seamless, secure access over IP via a web browser, allowing control down to bios level; no software is installed on the servers or remote PCs.

The OSD user interface offers many enhanced features for switch administration and user management, including the capability to define Super Users who can create custom user profiles / access rights for specific KVM ports. The OSD supports configurable hotkey access and has English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese and Simplified Chinese multilingual interface.

The switches are either stand alone1U rack mount units or to save space and power feed requirements in the rack they can be integrated into the Austin Hughes comprehensive range of 1U and 2U N Series LCD keyboard drawers.
