Forge Europa, an electronics company from Ulverston specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of LED lamps, displays and lighting, was particularly pleased to receive the award as it acknowledged its community work, charitable activities, positive attitude towards the environment and commitment to social responsibility.

“The Social Responsibility Award is an award we are particularly proud to have won, because it reflects the importance Forge Europa places on putting something back into the community and it challenges the often portrayed image of business being uncaring and purely finance driven.” Forge Europa has been actively committed to supporting its local community through providing electronic workshops in local Primary Schools and supporting many schools’ Physics departments. Forge Europa has actively supported its local town’s festivals and it sponsors Ulverston Rangers Football Club which has over 150 local children as playing members. Forge Europa’s charitable donations equate to over £1000 given for each employee at Forge Europa. In May 2004 Forge Europa became the first electronics company in Britain and the first manufacturer in the North West of England to be awarded the CommunityMark. This latest award recognises the ongoing efforts of the company.
