The portfolio of products at Link Microtek has been extended with a comprehensive line-up of millimetre-wave components for both military and commercial applications, following the signing of an exclusive representation agreement with HXI of Harvard, Massachusetts.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Renaissance Electronics & Communications, HXI manufactures a wide variety of connectorised components covering operating frequencies from 20GHz all the way up to 110GHz, including low-noise amplifiers, high-power amplifiers, mixers, frequency multipliers, upconverters, switches and oscillators.

In addition, HXI offers a series of standard 60GHz and E-band digital radio links for point-to-point communications.

According to Stuart Hendry, Link Microtek’s sales director, the agreement is an important step for the Basingstoke-based company: “We are delighted to have been appointed as HXI’s exclusive representative for the UK and Ireland. Their extensive product range fills a gap in our portfolio and will enable us to reach out to customers working on military or commercial millimetre-wave applications such as radar, avionics, satcom and space-qualified systems,” he said.

Commenting for HXI, business development manager Earle Stewart said: “We are confident that signing Link Microtek as our representative will help us to achieve one of our key goals at HXI, which is to boost international sales. Link Microtek’s personnel clearly understand our technology and our target markets, and we look forward to developing an effective relationship with them over the coming months and years.”
