The Swiss sensor company, Contrinex, has made a major investment in new administrative, research and manufacturing facilities to cater for the rapid growth that the company is experiencing in all operational areas. During 2006, the company headquarters in Givisiez near Fribourg increased in size from 4,000 to 7,000 square meters while the facility of Contrinex UK has doubled in size.
In addition, a new 2,000 square meter manufacturing plant was opened in China to service the rapidly expanding Chinese economy and the factory in Hungary, which produces inductive and photoelectric sensors to Swiss quality standards, will increase from 1,500 to 5,000 square meters over the next two years. New plants will also be set up in India and Brazil during 2007.

Contrinex has experienced global growth of 20% over the past two years and during that time a major proportion of profit, some 20%, has been reinvested in new product development allowing the company to utilise state of the art electronic technology to design and develop ground-breaking products. These unique devices offer new application solutions for customers and it is this product differential that is driving the significant global growth of the Contrinex business.

The company manufactures a wide range of inductive, photoelectric, laser, ultrasonic and fibre optic sensors specialising in small sensors with long sensing distance and versions in stainless steel for food, marine and other industries that experience aggressive environments. Contrinex UK was set up in Pangbourne, Berkshire in 2002.
