Boss buys out IP communications developer

A new era has been ushered it at Spirent's Developer Tool Business Unit in Tel Aviv (Formerly RADVISION Technology Business Unit) following a management buyout by Pierre Hagendorf, previously general manager of the business unit. The new name of the business is Softil and it begins with more than 800 corporate customers world-wide.

The transaction included also Spirent's two device intelligence businesses - Mobilethink and Tweakker - which will trade under Mobilethink Holdings, a sister company of Softil. Hagendorf becomes CEO of both Softil and Mobilethink.

"Developers of IP communication solutions need to better interact with enabling technologiesvendors to roll out carrier grade solutions in the shortest timeframe," says Softil CEO, Pierre Hagendorf. "With Softil, developers will be able to better tailor solutions by leveraging our best-in-breed,standards-based, future-proof software development kits, toolkits and frameworks."

Softil's roots go back to 1995 and it became a business unit of RADVISION. It was then acquired by Spirent Communications in 2014.

Over the years, it pioneered the introduction of Voice and Video over IP with a range of embedded technologies and testing solutions, combining its unique expertise in signalling, multimedia and IMS.

Its award-winning suite of Protocol Stacks, including IMS, Diameter, SIP and H.323, provide the core technology behind rich media applications and products of the communications industry, and greatly simplifies the development and improves time-to-market as well as the quality of all types of VoIP and 3G/LTE multimedia products and services.

Softil also offers its BEEHD Client Framework enabling the development of Enterprise, IMS/VoLTE, and Mission Critical Communications multimedia clients.

The BEEHD software is a complete Client Framework that allows service providers, solution developers and device manufacturers to launch customisable, IMS-compliant, VoLTE/RCS and 3GPP MCPTT-compliant, mission-critical products and services.

The framework received theFrost & Sullivan 2016 VoLTE and ViLTE Innovation Award.
