The new environment Grenelle 2012 Thermal Regulation requires new standards in terms of energy efficiency from the actors concerned. Approached by the latter, ADEUNIS RF is providing the radio component for different projects such as controlling urban heating, energy management in buildings and the energy efficiency of data centres.
Controlling heating in the urban environment

Project complexity: to recover data from water meters installed in buildings and to control the heating of these buildings remotely.

ADEUNIS RF introduced a bidirectional radio link between the main heating station and the different sub-stations used to feed the buildings with hot water.

Advantages:

-Instantaneous feedback of supply and return water temperature as well as the flow rate for each sub-station.

-The remote control of all sub-station parameters via a bidirectional 100% Wireless link.

-Wireless transmission of data over distances of up to 6 km free field, via the ARFx3 PRO range of radio modems; the range no longer being limited if these modems are configured in repeater mode.

Buildings energy management

Project complexity: to consolidate energy consumption data with a view to optimising its management.

Water, gas and electricity meters and sub-meters are installed in different technical and administrative buildings. Each meter reads data relating to the energy consumption of these buildings.

Using ADEUNIS RF ARFx3 PRO radio modems, this data is sent to a concentrator by radio. The data is then made available to the establishment's manager via an intranet/extranet.

Advantages:

Centralised in this way, this data can be used to manage the energy profile of each building precisely and can thus be used to track down wastage in an effective manner.

Optimisation of the energy efficiency of data centres

Project complexity: to gain a precise understanding of energy consumption per item of equipment and for different periods of the day in order to prepare an accurate map of a data centre's energy expenditure.

ADEUNIS RF ARFx3 PRO radio modems are used to retrieve data from electricity sub-meters installed either in specific items of equipment or in each of the rooms. They thus contribute to the preparation of a map of the data centre.

Advantages:

-ARFx3 PRO radio modems have an RS485 serial port that is directly compatible with sub-meter outputs; this means that data can be retrieved immediately.

-Implementation of this 100% wireless solution is simple and fast.

-The installation costs are lower than a wired solution because it avoids laying cables.
