Multiplexers extend signals up to 140m with Cat X cable
Targeting efficient KVM signal extension over large distances, two Draco CWDM multiplexers have been released by IHSE. The devices' KVM extenders consist of two units (at the work station anda remotely located CPU) and enable the extension of computer signals up to 140m with Cat X cable and 10km with single-mode fiber optic cable.
Multiplexing either four or eight bidirectional fiber connections, the devices minimise the total number of long interconnection cables and cabling effort. The bi-directional passive optical pair of multiplexer and demultiplexer, deployed by using specific SFP modules, allows up to 4 or 8 different wavelengths to pass through a single optical fiber channel.
Several types of Draco vario chassis are offered with the Draco CWDM multiplexer/demultiplexer kit, allowing the seemless integration with Draco vario extenders and Draco tera matrix switches. Completely agnostic to the signal type being transmitted, the Draco CWDM allows DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, USB, audio and RS232 sources to travel up to 10 km (specific SFP modules allow up to 120 km) over a single transceiver connection. Draco vario frame enclosures are offered for installation, with the devices also able to be simply mounted under a table or on the wall. No power supply is required and no additional configuration is necessary.
