The PAN9320 module from Panasonic which is now available from Mouser Electronics, combines a high-performance CPU, high-sensitivity (-98dBm) wireless radio, baseband processor, medium access controller, encryption unit, boot ROM with patching capability, internal SRAM and in-system 1 MByte programmable flash memory.

The module’s integrated memory is available to the application to store web content such as HTML pages or image data.

The PAN9320 module includes a coincident support for access and infrastructure modes, enabling use in smart devices and home network routers simultaneously.

The module’s WLAN system-on-chip (SoC) firmware enables client (STA), micro access point (µAP), and Wi-Fi direct mode applications, while its trans-parent mode allows the module to send unmodified data through the UART interface to the air interface of smart devices, web servers, or PC applications.

Mouser is also offering the Panasonic PAN9320 Experimenter Kit, which integrates the PAN9320 full embedded Wi-Fi module and 32-bit microcontroller. The PAN9320 module and Experimenter Kit can help wireless designers quickly add WLAN support to imaging platforms, asset-monitoring applications, industrial controls, medical devices, and smart energy accessories.
