Ramtron International has previewed its new VRS51L2xxx at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose, California. The VRS51L2xxx, which is the newest series in the Versa 8051 MCU family, is a fully integrated, high performance system-on-chip with an advanced 40-MIPS, single cycle 8051-core, a JTAG program/debug interface, digital signal processing (DSP) extensions and a robust digital peripheral set.

Silicon Laboratories microcontrollers has introduced a new MCU that integrates up to 32 kB Flash memory and high-performance analog peripherals, including a SmaRTClock with failsafe recovery features, into a compact 5 x 5 mm package. Its small size makes it ideal for portable equipment, instrumentation and measurement devices, consumer medical products and industrial meters.
