Microchip has announce it has expanded its SPI serial EEPROM family with the 32 Kbit 25AA320A and 25LC320A devices. The new devices are capable of operating at bus speeds of up to 10MHz, and are available in a range of packages, including the very low-profile MSOP and TSSOP. The new devices also offer Microchip’s high endurance, quality, on-time delivery and short lead times as standard.
The 25XX320A devices provide fast byte- and page-level erase and write operations, and rapid access times. Microchip’s proprietary memory architecture enables high-density devices to be placed in small packages, while maintaining high endurance (1 million erase/write cycles), industry-leading retention time (200 years) and the ability to operate at high speeds even in harsh environments such as extended temperature automotive applications.

The SEEVAL 32 Serial EEPROM Designer’s Kit (Part # DV243002) enables quick and easy development of robust, reliable serial EEPROM-based applications, including the 25XX320A devices. The kit is available today at www.microchipdirect.com and includes the SEEVAL 32 Development Board and interface software, Microchip’s Total Endurance modelling software, a serial cable, power supply, sample pack and documentation.

The 25XX320A serial EEPROMs are offered in 8-pin PDIP, SOIC and MSOP packages, as well as standard and rotated pin-out TSSOP packages.
