As technology becomes more advanced, consumers are conducting more of their business and personal lives on mobile devices. With so much infrastructure being built into these devices, having simple solutions that resolve system freezes quickly is critical. Fairchild Semiconductor's newly expanded line of reset timers provide a better solution for mobile device lock ups and freezes.
Reset timers provide a delay between when a button/key is pressed and when the system resets, thereby preventing an unintended reset. This new family of reset timers is designed with a variety of delay times for resetting mobile devices and product options that provide both fixed and selectable delays, single- or dual-button reset, and fixed or variable reset pulse widths.

The FT7522 and FT10001 provide fixed delays of 7.5 and 10 seconds and offer inputs for single-button resetting capability. The FT3001 provides design flexibility with two inputs for single- or dual-button resetting capability as well as four different delay values that can be selected using the DSR0 and DSR1 pins. All devices function over a power supply range of 1.65V to 5.0V and draw minimal supply current when inactive, making them suitable for use in portable devices where battery conservation is essential.

These devices are part of Fairchild's reset timer family, which includes the FT8010 reset timer with configurable delay and the FT7521 with a fixed delay and reset pulse. All reset timers in this family offer a simple solution to help manage and resolve white screen hardware lock up. Fairchild's reset timer portfolio highlights the company's ability to solve the complex challenges found in portable designs. By working closely with major mobile device manufacturers Fairchild is able to develop optimal solutions that address their design challenges.
