RF Solutions has introduced a Bluetooth remote controller that is designed for use with Bluetooth enabled devices such as PCs, PDAs and mobile phones. The BlueControl unit features four relays and is ideal for providing control in applications such as lighting, personal access, and power switching.

BlueControl is an FCC/ CE/ IC certified Class I Bluetooth device that, when used with another Class I device, provides a secure and reliable telemetry link over distances of up to 100 metres. If used in conjunction with a Class II Bluetooth device, the range is limited to approximately 10 metres.

The PC, PDA or mobile phone to be used with the BlueControl unit must be loaded with remote controller software prior to use; this is available as a free download from the Internet. Once installed, an intuitive main screen allows users to remotely turn each of BlueControl’s four SPCO switching relays on or off. Using the device settings screens it is possible to configure the relay outputs to be either pulsed or latching. The software also provides PIN code security for each relay.

Housed in a wall-mountable IP65 rated enclosure measuring 110mm (length) x 85mm (width) x 35mm (height), the BlueControl Bluetooth Remote Controller has an integral antenna and requires a 12VDC power supply. The unit has an operating temperature range of –20ºC to +75ºC.
