ZyXEL Communications has introduced its newest member to the WLAN Business Access Point product family – the NWA3000-N Access Point Series, designed specifically for enterprises. Powered with the most advanced 802.11n wireless LAN (WLAN) technology and hybrid features uniquely developed by ZyXEL, the new NWA3000-N AP Series ensures high reliability, robust scalability and manageability over applications-intensive network infrastructures for small and medium-sized businesses with wireless connections.
Whereas mobility has become essential in sustaining business efficiency and productivity, along with the evolving diversities of web applications, modern businesses are facing incremental challenges in maintaining a robust and high-performing, yet still reliable network operation, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises that are not so well allocated with abundant IT resources. To address these issues, ZyXEL has launched the new NWA3000-N Access Point Series, 802.11n wireless LAN architecture based business-level access points, to ensure seamless wireless connectivity and accessibility over optimized bandwidth, more extensive coverage and faster speed of up to 300 Mbps. Moreover, enriched with a unique tri-modes-in-one hybrid feature, a NWA3000-N access point can act as a stand-alone access point, a centralized-management architecture with controller mode or a managed access point. This extraordinary hybrid feature benefits the company with full flexibility in constructing secure and reliable WLAN networks when deploying for diversified scenarios: a stand-alone access point can be functioned during the initial set-up; a centralized management structure with WLAN controller mode can be functionally converted to manage the remaining access points when more are installed. When functioning as a centralized management access point, the scalability is capable of managing up to 24 access points, serving from 300 to 500 users. This is ideal for vicinities, such as shopping centers, campuses, recreational resorts and government buildings which need to provide wireless connection services for a large amount of people. Organizations are able to benefit from not only the high convertibility embodied in a single box, but also relief from the extra costs and resources usually required, owing to several installations and comprehensive management.

The new NWA3000-N AP Series also manages to minimize, as much utilization complexity as possible, in consideration of limited IT manpower usually available in small to medium-sized organizations. Once installed and powered-up, auto-discovery and auto-provisioning are concurrently activated to identify controller AP to join the management group and to provoke provisioning between controller AP and the managed APs without additional boosting effort. The new centralized graphic management interface, a Web 2.0 interface design, allows IT staff a thorough view of all acting access points and simplicity to conduct configurations and changes. Moreover, with embedded RADIUS server in the NWA3000-N AP, the IT Department is freed from the extra effort and cost of installation and maintenance, if using an external one.

As one of leading green networking companies with uncompromising aspirations towards both the green and safety environment, ZyXEL deploys the state-of-the-art IEEE 802.3az Standard, known as ‘EEE (Energy Efficiency Ethernet)’, to the new NWA3000-N AP Series. Coupled with ZyXEL’s 802.3az switches, power consumption will be significantly reduced, while optimal network performance can still be achieved. One other environmental-friendly feature is the utilization of LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) material to build all indoor units. The material, recognized throughout the world, can help minimize toxic smoke emission, bearing low concentrations of hazardous fumes, emitting no corrosive gases and being ozone friendly. It avoids potential harm to people working in the environment when work safety matters to employers.

ZyXEL’s new NWA3000-N AP Series provides a variety of choices from single radio to concurrent radio, as well as indoor and outdoor dual-frequency access points (dual-band NWA3160-N, dual-band/dual-radio NWA3560-N and outdoor dual-radio NWA3550-N).
