In partnership with NHSX, Intelligent Health UK brought the global AI and health community to the ExCeL London for a one-day event to advance discussions on how to apply AI and drive technological collaboration in healthcare. Attending the event were clinicians, data scientists, startups, academics and investors, collaborating to set out roadmaps to success for AI in healthcare and prove that AI will revolutionise patient outcomes.

The event gathered influential speakers in AI and healthcare who shared their knowledge on driving technological collaborations, evolving AI driven business models, data governance, ethics, improving patient outcomes, real world evidence generation, and much more.

Nine interactive challenges to bridge the gap between clinicians and technologists

Nine interactive sessions designed to bridge the gap between clinicians and technologists were held throughout the afternoon. Each session focused on a live or current digital health challenge and asked the group to share resources, experiences and expertise to look towards finding possible solutions, creating a multidisciplinary team of experts focused on improving patient outcomes.

These discussions continued to be facilitated beyond the close of the event, with the goal of presenting new insight and approaches at the flagship Intelligent Health event in Switzerland in September.

Oliver Smith, Strategy Director and Head of Ethics, Alpha Health, Telefónica Innovación Alpha, and Challenge Host said: “AI will not reach its full potential unless we act ethically. This is not a nice-to-have, but a necessity. Our challenge will not only take an in-depth look into how we’re addressing ethics in AI, but more importantly, the format brings a range of opinions and ideas together to share good practice and improve the industry in a collaborative way.”

£140m AI in health and care award - advice clinic

The Accelerated Access Collaborative (AAC), NHSX and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) were at Intelligent Health UK with the first advice clinic to answer any questions on the application process for the Artificial Intelligence in Health and Care Award. £140million will be available over three years to accelerate the testing and evaluation of the most promising AI technologies which meet the strategic aims set out in the NHS Long Term Plan.
