Connectors for demanding military vehicle applications at DSEI
TT Electronics has introduced three highly diverse connector solutions designed for harsh environment applications: Pola Power, OcTrain and SteadiShield. These innovative additions to the TT interconnect range have been developed to meet the power and connectivity demands of today’s military vehicle requirements and all will be on display at DSEI 2019, taking place in London from 10th - 13th September.
Pola Power, designed for applications within power distribution, offers an extremely durable, high performance single pole power connector with bayonet coupling. With an extensive operating temperature capability of -55°C to +150°C and the ability to withstand vibrations of 5-500Hz (long endurance 30 hour test at 10g), Pola Power provides quick disconnection, 500 mated cycles (minimum), and straight and 90° options as well as 360° screening, making the connector highly suitable for the robust environmental challenges of the defence industry.
TT’s SteadiShield connector can be sealed to IP67 with the OcTrain 10Gb Ethernet contact for Cat 7 Cable offering compatible sealing to the same standard within the connector, providing an ideal secure solution for harsh environment communication equipment and braking systems applications.
SteadiShield is a reverse bayonet connector fitting for designs requiring one connector with multiple ethernet screens. Enabling significant power distribution capabilities, the connector delivers 360° screening with no additional components required. Five multi-pole contact styles are available: Co-ax, Twin-ax, Tri-ax, Quadrax, and 10Gb ethernet (OcTrain).
Designed for full compatibility with TT’s range of established ABMP connectors, OcTrain meets ultra-high speed connection requirements to aid heavy data consumption in harsh environments. This contact is suitable for 22 and 24AWG wire, CAT 6A and CAT 7 cable, and a range of cable jackets from 4-8.1mm.
