The first fruits of Euroquartz’s six-figure investment in a Class 7 cleanroom facility were debuted at the Embedded Design Show in Coventry in the shape of UK-manufactured surface mount military clock oscillators with frequencies available from 2.0MHz to 60MHz

The EQXO75000BM oscillator comprises a TTL/CMOS-compatible circuit with a miniature quartz crystal housed in a low-profile ceramic surface mount package measuring 7.0 x 5.0 x 2.5mm.

Utilising the latest advances in production technology, the combination of optimised design and high-quality materials provides a high reliability clock oscillator suitable for the defence market initially.

As Euroquartz Applications Engineer Andrew Whiteley remarks, “The clean room means we will also be able to manufacture devices suitable for the civil aerospace markets.

The principal advantages of these UK-manufactured components are that they are free from ITAR regulations with reduced shipping costs. In addition, customers can visit the production facility without facing long haul flights.

The SMD EQXO75000BM series complements the company’s existing range of DIL products and are ideal for use in new designs. The parts can be supplied with or without full military screening all controlled within the AS9100 Quality Management System.
