Finnish satellite sends 75GHz signals from space
The W-Cube nanosatellite sent a signal on the high frequency range of 75GHz on 31st August at 16:21 Finnish time. The signal was received by the ground station in Graz, Austria. The satellite, ordered from Finland by the European Space Agency ESA is broadcasting the signal using a radio beacon system developed by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and Germany's Fraunhofer IAF.
Contract awarded to Stratasys by the US Navy
The US Navy has issued Stratasys a $20m contract to purchase up to 25 Stratasys F900 3D printers over the next five years, with delivery of the first eight expected before the end of 2021. In addition to the printers, the contract includes initial support and sustainment, materials, and development of initial training for the supplied systems.
