Inductors suit commercial & automotive applications
Providing a wide range of inductance values from 0.22 to 15µH, Vishay has announced two IHLP high-current inductors in the 2020 case size. The IHLP-2020CZ-51 and automotive-grade IHLP-2020CZ-5A are suited for voltage regulator modules and DC/DC converters in high-temperature commercial and automotive applications.
Nut plates & gaskets available for size 02 connectors
Lane Motorsport has added a wide selection of connector accessories, manufactured by Weald Electronics, to its the product portfolio. The company have added Weald’s nut plates and gaskets to its portfolio, which is centred around the Souriau 8STA compact circular connector family.
Pulsed amplifier suits air traffic control & radar
Designed for civil air traffic control and weather radar applications, M/A-COM Technology Solutions has introduced a high power pulsed amplifier. The S-band device operates from 2.7 to 3GHz and features 7W of pulsed power and 23dB small signal gain in a 6mm PQFN 28-lead SMT package.
CMOS transceiver supports millimetre-wave radar
Fujitsu has announced that it has produced a transceiver chip for millimetre-wave (mm-wave) radar in a CMOS implementation, enabling costs to be reduced, while at the same time successfully boosting the short-range detection performance of the transceiver.
Development programme supports thread mesh networking protocol
As a founding member of Thread Group, Freescale has launched its Thread beta development programme, making its Thread software and evaluation platform available to select developers. Encouraging adoption of the Thread IP-based mesh networking protocol, Freescale aims to create a better way to connect devices in the home.
Protect against load dump without expanding design footprint
A TVS diode, designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by load dump and other transient voltage events, has been released by Littelfuse. The SLD series TVS diode, which is AEC-Q101 qualified, offers a 5000W (10/1000μs) or 2200W (load dump) peak pulse power dissipation rating in a standard P600 package.
Wireless combo SoC targets IoT & wearable applications
A wireless combo SoC, designed for the growing IoT and wearable markets, has been released by Atmel. The WILC3000 wireless link controller, which expands the company’s SmartConnect wireless portfolio, combines WiFi 802.11n and Bluetooth Smart-ready technologies with Atmel’s patented adaptive co-existence engine in a 4.1x4.1mm WLCSP.
Infrared pyrometer measures temperatures down to 350 degrees C
The new PyroMini 0.9 infrared pyrometer makes it possible to measure the temperature of reflective metals and semiconductors, as low as 350°C, at low cost and without contact. The pyrometer can view into a vacuum chamber through a quartz or glass window, and measure the temperature of the surface of the silicon wafer.
WiFi module enables photo & video capture nano platform
To provide secure, onboard WiFi technology for its ZANO nano drone, an aerial photography and HD video capture nano platform which allows users to capture and share photographs and video content instantly, Torquing Group has tapped Lantronix.
Battery pack connector meets rail industry standards
The CombiTac connector system from Multi-Contact can be used to connect battery packs used on rolling stock and other rail applications. Featuring alignment tolerances of 3° and ±1mm through standard CombiTac guiding end pieces, the panel mount connectors are suitable for use with rackable, slide-in battery packs where blind connection is necessary.
