Synthesiser delivers phase noise of -90dBc/Hz at 10kHz
Delivering an output signal at 11.3GHz while operating from an external 10MHz reference, a fixed frequency synthesiser has been introduced by Z-Communications. An internal PIC controller presets the SFS11300H-LF synthesiser's output frequency, removing the need for external programming and easing installation.
Phase noise of -90dBc/Hz at 10kHz and better than -120dBc/Hz at 100kHz offset are generated by the synthesiser. The SFS11300H-LF synthesiser, which is guaranteed over the industrial temperature range of -40 to +85°C, is suitable for radar systems and test instrumentation.
Designed to provide a nominal output power of 0dBm into a 50Ω load, the synthesiser operates with a VCO voltage supply of 5VDC while consuming 90mA. With a phase locked loop voltage of 3VDC, the synthesiser draws 45mA. Harmonic suppression of -30dBc and spurious suppression of -70dBc are also delivered.
Offered in Z-Comm's standard SFS-L1 package measuring 1.0 x1.0x0.22", the synthesiser is suitable for automated surface mount assembly and available in tape and reel packaging.
