Jitters of significantly less than 1ps, a pull range of up to ±1600 PPM and a linearity of less than 1% are the key features distinguishing the new MEMS-based voltage-controlled oscillators (VCMOs) of the SiT380X family from SiTime. These devices are available from MSC for different applications in telecom, networking and embedded applications.
Both the SiT3808, which is specified for the frequency range from 1MHz to 80MHz, as well as the SiT3809 (frequency range: 80MHz to 220MHz) impress design engineers with its extremely high frequency stability of up to ±1 ppm and 6 decimal places of frequency accuracy. The excellent pull range linearity significantly contributes to minimising variations of the application PLL. Furthermore, possible EMI distortions may be reduced very easily by using the programmable drive level of the devices.

Fully compatible with already existing quartz-based VCXO solutions these MEMS VCOs (VCMOs) are available for the commercial temperature range from -20 to +70°C as well as for the extended industrial temperature range from -40 to +85°C. The members of the SiT380X family are available in 3225 packages with 4 pins as well as in 6-pin 7050 packages. The devices operate from a 1.8V or 2.5…3.3V power supply.

Due to the individual programmability of several parameters like frequency, stability, operating voltage, pull range and drive level, first customer-specific samples will mostly be available within 48 to 72 hours. The lead time for production quantities is about 3 weeks.
