Full-featured real time clocks are industry’s most accurate says Intersil

Full-featured real time clocks are industry’s most accurate says Intersil
Intersil has introduced the world’s first full-featured, AC-driven Real Time Clock (RTC) devices. The new ICs will be designed into a wide range of industrial and consumer products, from power meters and security devices to white goods and other high-end appliances that require precise measurement of time. With integrated functionality such as dual alarms, event detection and a “brownout” alert, the new ISL12030 and ISL12032 have the broadest feature set of any RTCs on the market.

XOs And VCXOs With Any-Rate Frequency Synthesis

XOs And VCXOs With Any-Rate Frequency Synthesis
Silicon Laboratories has announced the Si570/1 family, said to be the industry’s first user-programmable crystal oscillators (XO) and voltage-controlled crystal oscillators (VCXO) supporting any-rate frequency synthesis. Using patented DSPLL technology and an industry-standard I2C interface, a single device can generate any output frequency from 10 MHz to 1.4 GHz at jitter levels of 0.3 picoseconds rms. The Si570 Any-Rate XO and Si571 Any-Rate VCXO are ideal for high-performance applications requiring frequency flexible clock sources including next-generation networking equipment, wireless base stations, test and measurement equipment, HDTV video infrastructure and high-speed data acquisition equipment.

High stability crystal oscillators

High stability crystal oscillators
Microwave component specialist distributor, Aspen Electronics has announced the introduction of two new high stability crystal oscillators for high performance, high reliability wireless communications infrastructure applications. Designed and built in Germany by multinational market leader, Vectron International, the C4700 and C4550 crystal oscillators are compact in size and competitive in price. The C4700 is an ultra high stability double oven controlled crystal oscillator (DOCXO) with a reduced profile of just 17mm, making it the lowest profile DOCXO on the market.

High-Frequency Inductors for matching-circuit applications

High-Frequency Inductors for matching-circuit applications
TAIYO YUDEN has announced the availability of its AQ105 series of high-frequency inductors for matching-circuit applications in cell phones, notebook PCs and other wireless-enabled computer and communications devices. AQ105 series inductors employ a proprietary simulation technique that optimally characterizes the device’s structural attributes to produce a typical Q value improvement of 100% or higher, compared to the company’s earlier, industry-leading HK series inductors. At a measuring frequency of 0.8GHz, for example, the AQ105-2N2 device achieves a typical Q value of 67 versus 31 for the HK1005-2N2 series device with similar physical and electrical characteristics. At 1.8GHz, the same AQ series part provides a Q value of 101.
