On Stand 49 at EMC 2015, TMD will be exhibiting a wide range of TWTAs (Travelling Wave Tube Amplifiers) incorporating significant technical features for a variety of applications in the EMC, scientific and medical fields, as well as in passive intermodulation testing, telecomms and EW simulation.

The amplifiers are proven in the field, and are achieving over 10kW of power and up to 40kW for certain pulsed models, with a frequency range of up to 40GHz using suites of both TWT based and solid state amplifiers.

The PTC series of high power pulsed TWTAs has now been further extended, optimised for use in HIRF EMC testing. Using the PTC series instrumentation amplifiers, EMC test laboratories have generated 14,000V/m, complying with the latest RTCA/DO-160 G and L test requirements. Other standards met include: MIL Standard, EUROCAE and AIRBUS ABD 100.

In keeping with its philosophy of offering customers the advantages of both tube and solid state technology, TMD has also introduced a full range of solid state amplifiers, operating below 6GHz and designated the PTCS series.

“Our amplifiers offer highest reliability, compact and lightweight design and the ability to customise for special applications”, said Imad Gharib, Technical Sales Representative, TMD. “Moreover, we are able to provide full turnkey EMC testing systems, and have close contact with both antenna specialists and anechoic chamber specialists to achieve this.”
