Two top notch keynotes will be delivered at next month’s RF and Wireless Forums at the Williams F1 Conference Centre near Oxford (June 7) and the Moller Centre, Cambridge (June 14). The Oxford venue will host a keynote on LiFi, the high-speed, bi-directional and fully networked wireless communications, akin to Wi-Fi, using visible light.

Because LiFi makes use of completely different part of the spectrum, it presents a non-competitive alternative to RF communications and can complement existing RF infrastructures. The dense frequency reuse can deliver up to 1000x more wireless capacity as an additional tier in future heterogeneous networks, helping to meet the exponentially growing demand for wireless data with orders of magnitude better energy efficiency.

Moreover, the growth of the Internet of Things will only accelerate the demand for wireless communications, and so Li-Fi will inevitably play a key role in delivering future machine-to-machine communications.

The Cambridge event will be headlined by a presentation from Innovate UK’s Andy Sellars on Support & Funding for innovation within RF & Wireless, which will be essential listening for both start-up entrepreneurs and SMEs.

The Oxford conference will also feature presentations from Texas Instruments, EBV Elektronik and SigFox and Wurth Elektronik.

There will also be presentations from Coilcraft, Texas Instruments, Siretta and Future Electronics at the Cambridge Forum.

Alongside the conference sessions is a bench-top exhibition featuring blue chip component suppliers including Texas Instruments, ON Semiconductor, Murata, and leading distributors represented by Digi-Key, Future Electronics, EBV Elektronik and Avnet Abacus.
