National Electronics Week 2016 is an 'engineer’s wonderland'

With more companies and brands already showcasing at National Electronics Week 2016 than ever before, this year is set to be the biggest gathering of electronic and manufacturing professionals in the UK. With the coming together of MACH, Drives & Controls and five other industry specific events all under one roof, it is an engineer’s wonderland.

National Electronics Week has always been a great event for showcasing the larger machinery and this year they expect to exceed everyone’s expectations, here is a sneaky peak at what some of the exhibitors will be bringing along.

STANTRONIC INSTRUMENTS will be exhibiting 3 new oscilloscope ranges in 3 different formats to suit all requirements:

  • PC-based, USB Controlled. The 200MHz, 2 Channel USB oscilloscopes start from around £300.
  • Compact Touch Screen. 3 model are available in the GDS-200 Series from 70 – 200MHz which offer 1M memory per channel which are currently all on special offer. The GDS-300 Series DSOs have increased functionality and 5M memory per channel.
  • Low Cost Benchtop. Three new ranges, the GDS-1000B Series, the GDS-2000A Series and the award winning GDS-2000E series scopes provide high performance features at great prices. 2 and 4 channel units are available from 70MHz to 300MHz.

Pickering Interfaces will be exhibiting a selection from their range of 1000+ PXI switching, programmable resistor and instrumentation modules, and will be participating in the daily PXI Show seminar programme. Also on show will be PCI and LXI switching products, connectivity solutions (including a recently released Modular Breakout System) and a demonstration of Pickering’s new eBIRST switching system test tools. Visitors will be able to discuss their Test & Measurement applications with Keith Moore, Pickering’s founder, as well as several of the company’s technical product specialists.  

Introducing the Ecostrip 9380 – Cut & Strip Machine by Schleuniger in partnership with Turner Electronics. This 3 in 1 transport unit with improved price to performance ratio will be displayed on Turner Electronics Stand #400. The capabilities of this machine are significantly expanded due to a quick transport unit for rollers, belts and short mode processing.

Jactron will be showcasing the Innodisk 3MG2-P 2 TB Industrial grade SSD suitable for a variety of applications and industries where data storage in extreme conditions is critical. The SSD also features iSMART Health Monitoring, iData Guard for abnormal power failure and iCell technology for data protection making this a cutting edge SSD from renowned manufacturer Innodisk. In addition Jactron will be exhibiting a variety of industrial grade storage solutions covering; DRAM, SSD, Embedded Storage, Memory cards and USB’s.

Full SMT Line will be on show this year from Elite 7. This will consist of a Bare board PCB Loader, In-Line Fully Automatic Large board screen printer from ESE capable of printing PCB’s 1300x650mm in size. The ESE LX-3 is the first of it’s kind to be exhibited at a UK Exhibition. Hanwha SM482L Large Board Flexible pick and place machine (1200x510mm capability), various conveyors, 5 Zone EMS Reflow Oven and a JUTZE In-Line AOI Machine.

FREE ST 70/TD-100 MBT 350 Promotion! For every MBT 350 Multi Channel Rework System purchased, PACE will supply an ST 70/TD-100 Soldering Station FREE while stocks last. PACE will also be showing the TD-100 with the new LONG LIFE DIAMOND SERIES Tip Heater Cartridge. Demonstrating the installation of 0.5mm pitch QFP using the Mini-Wave Technique.  

Jalel Tabib from the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency for Tunisia will be on hand with plenty of information about investment opportunities in Tunisia. ATE Solutions will be showing their new "Automatic Vision Module" as part of their range of FLEX test systems. The unit on display will be demonstrating the ability to automatically test the presence and colour temperature of LED lighting units.  

Functional circuit tests of IoT devices in real-time, high-speed automated optical inspection of PCBs and unrivaled test coverage from a single source: GOEPEL electronic will bring the latest strategies for JTAG/Boundary Scan and AOI at booth 420. Visitors will encounter the leading edge in high level inspection, test and programming. Advances in faster, more efficient and higher-output quality assurance will be the focus.

Peak Test will be co-exhibiting with our new partner Equip-Test on stand 524. The partnership with Equip-Test (which is based in Hungary with sales and support offices across central and eastern Europe) will offer our customers a range of fixtures and services to complement Peak’s own, with an initial focus is on ICT fixtures for users of systems from Agilent, Teradyne, etc., that is expected to expand as the partnership develops. Peak will offer Equip-Test’s customers high quality, custom designed Functional Test Systems, and together the partners will provide unrivalled European support services covering commercial, design and manufacturing areas as a ‘one-stop-shop’. 

Blakell Europlacer will showcase Europlacer's well established and award winning Europlacer iineo and Speedprint Stencil Printer SP710AVi.  To complement this, the company will also have the fastest inline AOI machine on the market from Aleader, ALD770Pro; a full range of High Definition Inspection equipment from Tagarno; cost effective XRAY systems from Unicomp and under PCB support tooling for Stencil Printers from RED-E-SET.  

Aspen Electronics will be exhibiting the latest addition to their range from a number of vendors including: - The Bode 100 Vector Network Analyser for applications in the frequency range 1Hz to 40MHz. - MicSig’s new range of 'tablet' oscilloscopes ideal for applications where maximum portability is required, without compromising on screen size. - Keysight’s unique current drain measuring systems for accurately determining 'sleep', 'wake' and 'power' modes. - The GW Instek range of Electrical Safety Testers, complimented by the patented Multiplex Scanner Box allowing multiple products to be tested at one time saving time and reducing operator error.    

The Area Array Bottom Termination & Fine Pitch Rework Experience

Experience all the most demanding rework challenges in the industry in one exhibition feature. You can watch experts rework boards featuring area array, fine pitch, underfill and conformally coated boards and ask their advice on your own repair challenge.

The Hand Soldering Competition

The IPC Hand Soldering Competition in association with Advanced Rework Technologies will return to National Electronics Week. Participants will compete against each other to build a functional electronics assembly within a 45-minute time limit. Assemblies will be judged on soldering in accordance with IPC-A-610F Class 3 criteria, the speed at which the assembly was produced and overall electrical functionality of the assembly. Debbie Wade and Mark Harvey both from Advanced Rework Technology Ltd will serve as the judges and the 2016 winners will be awarded on the last day of the expo (14th April) on the show floor by National Electronics Week Director, Claire Saunders.
