HARTING will be showing a range of connectors, device connection technology and network components for the energy market on stand 20 at the Global Offshore Wind 2016 exhibition, 21st-22nd June, in Manchester. This is the first time that HARTING has participated in this annual conference and exhibition, but the company already has an impressive track record in the market.

Amongst the products displayed by HARTING will be the Plug & Play solution developed for The Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm, 24 miles off the coast near Cromer in North Norfolk, one of the biggest and most exciting energy projects currently under construction in Europe. The turbines are supplied and commissioned by Siemens. Each generates 6MW, and stand about 150m tall: this is the first offshore project to use such large turbines. The challenging construction conditions dictated a quicker, more modular method of electrical connection between the turbine and the transmission piece, and HARTING will be showing the innovate solution developed with Siemens.

The HARTING range featured on the stand will include the Han-Modular range of connector inserts for combining different transmission media into one connector, HARTING Customised Solutions (bespoke developments in cabling or complete assemblies, including the Siemens Dudgeon Offshore solution),the Han Eco thermoplastic cable connector hoods and housings, HARTING Integrated Solutions (panel and circuit board design and manufacture), the Han HsB connector inserts, the Han GND connectors for grounding systems and stainless steel hoods and housings.

HARTING will also debut a Slip Ring at the show to solve some of the issues of connecting rotating assemblies, such as turbine nacelles and towers.

Natalie Thomas, Marketing Manager at HARTING Ltd, said; “The offshore wind industry is rapidly coming of age, and project managers are now looking for the most efficient and effective way of carrying out all tasks in the installation of wind turbines. That includes making robust power, control and data connections quickly and safely. Our connectors are trusted by some of the biggest names in offshore and alternative energy, whether they are looking for connectivity components or complete solutions.”
