Nordic Semiconductor, in collaboration with Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH, is organising a Europe-wide series of seminars on the implementation of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Another Network Technology (ANT) applications with the nRF51 series. The full-day seminars will take place on dates during May in Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom.

Entitled "Combine two worlds. Simply. BLE connectivity combined with ANT+ network flexibility = nRF51422", the seminar provides development engineers with the principles of and source code examples for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and ANT as well as an insight into the hardware structure of Nordic's nRF51 series. Software examples directly from the SDK (software development kit) for nRF51 familiarise the participants with the working methods of the SoCs of the new nRF51 series, thus laying the foundation for the development of their own applications. The focus is on the nRF51422. In conjunction with the S310 stack, it allows the simultaneous use of both BLE and ANT, thereby offering applications the greatest possible compatibility. The hardware section is conducted by technical support engineers (FAEs) from Nordic Semiconductor, while FAEs from Dyanastream lead the software section.

The SoCs of the nRF51 series from Nordic Semiconductor are an innovative solution for the next generation of ultra-low power wireless networks with the following characteristics:

  • 32-bit Cortex M0 microcontroller (MCU)
  • Multi-protocol architecture
  • Independence of protocol / application software
  • Programmable peripheral connectivity
  • User-definable GPIO configuration (incl. variable pin allocation)
  • Wireless connections of less than 10 mA at 0 dBm
  • Stacks for Bluetooth, ANT and the combination of both protocols
  • Proprietary 2.4 GHz stacks

Attending the seminar is free of charge, but you must register on the Rutronik website.
