Security expert confirmed for Ethernet Technology Summit

Steve Singer, VP of worldwide field applications engineering at INSIDE Secure, will be a featured speaker at the Ethernet Technology Summit being held April 29 – May 1 in Santa Clara, USA. Singer will present “High Throughput, Low Latency Ethernet Security with MACsec” on April 30 at 9:50am, as part of the Security Session.

Internet of Things centre stage at free seminars

Avnet Memec has scheduled the dates for its latest UK TechDay seminars.  The free one-day events will be dedicated to the Internet of Things and comprise keynote speakers combined with hands-on technology streams and presentations. Workshops are being held in Oxford and Cambridge on Tuesday 03 June at Culham Science Park, Oxford and Thursday 05 June at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford

High-speed digital design topic for European symposia

Agilent Technologies is to stage a European symposium tour focused on high-speed digital design and test topics.  The complimentary full-day technology symposium for engineers and project managers will feature presentations from some of the leading providers of FPGA and memory devices. The symposia will be conducted in 12 cities across Europe, from May 20 to July 3.

Strain gauges take centre stage at Sensor & Test

At the Sensor & Test in June VPG Micro-Measurments and Transducers will be showing the next generation strain gauges and the System 8000 StrainSmart data acquisition system. The strain gauges are produced on an advanced manufacturing technology line at its Micro-Measurements Advanced Sensors facility. This facility has the latest processing equipment, which is now providing replacement gages for many of M-M's existing transducer class products with tighter tolerances than the previous generation.

Europe-wide seminar series to target BLE & ANT implementation

Nordic Semiconductor, in collaboration with Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH, is organising a Europe-wide series of seminars on the implementation of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Another Network Technology (ANT) applications with the nRF51 series. The full-day seminars will take place on dates during May in Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom.

German debug tool company Lauterbach will be hosting a half-day workshop entitled, “A Guide to Advanced Debugging” at the design Developers’ Conference series. This workshop will explain and demonstrate how the more advanced debug tools are enabling developers to produce higher performance code, whilst speeding up reliable code development.

PCB test and debug event slated for June 18 in Cambridge

The ‘ElectroTestExpo’ consortium has revealed the dates for its regional PCB test and debug exhibitions to be held during 2014.  Now enjoying its fifth consecutive year of free-to-attend events, ElectroTestExpo will commence its combination of drop-in tabletop exhibition and seminar on June 18th at one of the UK’s main electronics and research hubs – the Cambridge Science Park (the Trinity Centre).

NEW 2014 competition seeks best UK hand soldering technician

With bragging rights and prizes to be won, the IPC Hand Soldering Competition at National Electronics Week 2014 aims to add excitement to the 2014 event. The competition will seek to find the best hand soldering technician in the United Kingdom, with the first place winner also earning the chance to compete at the IPC World Championship at IPC APEX EXPO  2015, in San Diego, California.
