SMD LEDs eliminate light bleed issues

They are available in single colours of red, green, yellow, orange and blue, as well as bi-colour versions. Various colours and lens types are available, including green, which is manufactured with AIGalnP on GaAs substrate Light Emitting Diode. Qualified to moisture sensitivity level 3, it is RoHS compliant and supplied packaged (2000 pieces per reel).

Kingbright KPTBD-3216 parts measure 3.2mm x 1.6mm x 1.8mm thick and are available in various colours including green or super bright yellow and various lens types. Low power consumption means they suit both backlight and indicator applications. Viewing angle is 30deg. for water clear lens type in green or super bright yellow. They are recommended for reflow soldering only.

Available in various colours and lens types, Kingbright KPBD-3224 SMD chips measure 3.2mm x 2.4mm x 2.44mm thick and are also suitable for backlight and indicator applications. Hyper red and green are both made with AlGalnP on GaAs substrate Light Emitting Diode. The water clear lenses give a 20deg viewing angle. The devices can operate over a temperature range of -40degC to +85deg.C.

A larger size 3.5mm x 2.8mm SMD Chip LED lamp, Kingbright KPED-3528CGCK is available in green only for backlighting applications. Electrical characteristics include power dissipation of 75mW, DC forward current of 30 mA, peak forward current at 1/10 duty cycle, 0.1ms pulse width of 150 mA and 5V reverse voltage. Suitable for all SMT assembly and solder processes, it is qualified to moisture sensitivity level 3, is RoHS compliant and supplied on tape and reel (500pcs/reel).
