Optrex America, Inc. has developed a new family of TFT-LCDs featuring its innovative Super Wide View (SWV) technology for superior image quality and wide viewing angles with maximum color accuracy. Super Wide View solves the color shifting problems inherent in traditional twisted nematic (TN) and Vertical Alignment (VA) type displays. TN displays can suffer from limited viewing angles, and colors can shift when viewed off-perpendicular. In the vertical direction, colors will shift when viewed past a certain viewing angle. Vertical Alignment (VA) is a technology to improve the viewing angle; however, it still has a color shift issue when viewed at a 45 degree angle. Super Wide View reduces the amount of light scattering in the matrix, provides a super wide viewing angle of greater than 170º, and ensures that colors will be the most accurate when viewed from any direction.
/> TFT-LCDs with Super Wide View technology are well suited for graphic designs, medical applications, automotive clusters, center stack consoles, and other applications that require accurate and consistent color reproduction with super wide viewing angles.

Optrex’s new Super Wide View TFT-LCD family includes three series:

The 5-inch diagonal WVGA panels (T-55423GD050JU-LW-A series) feature a slim design with a total module thickness of only 3.5 mm and a standard CMOS interface, along with 300 nits brightness and a 600:1 contrast ratio. The high brightness version (T-55583GD050J-LW-A-AAN) features 800 nits with a 900:1 contrast ratio and is designed for outdoor sunlight-readable applications.

The 9-inch diagonal WVGA panels (T-55561D090J-LW-A series) feature 100k hours LED backlighting, 350 nits brightness, and a 900:1 contrast ratio, along with standard LVDS interface and a wide operating temperature of -30 to 80° C.

The 15-inch diagonal XGA panels (T-55519D150J-LW-A series) feature 100k hours LED backlighting, 350 nits brightness, and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. The high brightness version
(T-55519D150J-LW-A-ABN) features 1100 nits and is ideal for outdoor sunlight readable applications.
