HCC-Embedded today announced the release of its full suite of embedded middleware for all of NXP’s Cortex-M3 based microcontrollers. The company offers an extensive family of embedded middleware including file systems, TCP/IP, USB software for host and device and flash translation layers.
- Suite includes fail-safe file systems, NAND/NOR Flash Management, USB Host & Device and MISRA compliant TCP/IP

- Compatible with LPC1300/1700/1800 using IAR EWARM, Keil MDK-ARM, Atollic TrueSTUDIO or GCC

- Seamless integration for most commercial RTOSes, as well as proprietary schedulers and applications that run without an RTOS.

HCC’s release of its middleware suite brings a whole new layer of software capability to NXP’s advanced Cortex-M3 family. Engineers can now easily integrate many NXP peripherals and storage media quickly and to a high level of quality. HCC middleware is designed to complement the middleware from many RTOS focused companies by providing the kind of performance and range of features that can only be achieved by specialization.

Highlights include:

Flash Storage: HCC’s SafeFTL Flash Translation Layer enables truly fail-safe management of thousands of NAND and NOR devices, including internal flash, serial flash and large arrays of NAND flash.

USB Device & Host: With support for all speeds, endpoints and transfer types, HCC’s USB offers a broad range of class drivers. This includes support for media interfaces such as printers, cameras and audio and a sophisticated range of interfaces to Ethernet and storage media.

eTaskSync Verifiable Scheduler: a priority based pre-emptive scheduler with a tiny memory footprint and a suite of verification tools. Rigorously compliant with MISRA–C:2004 and supplied with 100% object/statement coverage tests and MC/DC analysis.

Fail-safe File Systems: HCC offers a range of file systems to ensure that it is possible to achieve the highest performance or to work efficiently within limited resources. Developers can choose either fully FAT-compatible systems or systems with proprietary file structures. This means that engineers can cope with any demands with minimum fuss and high confidence.

MISRA-Compliant TCP/IP: HCC’s MISRA-compliant embedded TCP/IP is a compact, high-quality, high-performance stack that reduces the risk and cost of using complex software in critical systems. It is implemented with a strongly typed subset of the ‘C’ language that complies with the MISRA-C:2004 standard.
